Rules and Guidelines for All UMYF Activities
These rules have been written down to inform the youth of how they need to conduct themselves at any UMYF function. These rules were not established to take away any youth’s privileges from or the fun out of any UMYF function, but were established to protect each youth and enable the entire youth group, counselors, and youth director to have a great experience at all youth functions.
If one or these rules is broken and it is discovered, discipline will be taken in the following manner, unless otherwise listed:
- The offender will have at least 5 minutes away from the rest of the group with a counselor of the youth director to discuss the issue.
- If the problem persists, or otherwise stated in the Constitution, or directed by the youth director or counselor in charge, a telephone call to the parent(s) or guardian(s) will be made to have them come pick up the youth to inform them that the youth is being sent home.
General
- Youth must stay with the group in the designated area(s) while attending UMYF function
- Youth are to respect and follow requests made by the youth director, youth counselor, helping adults, or youth leading programs. Youth should not have to be asked or told more than once to do something.
- “Cut downs” are frowned upon at any UMYF function. If one should occur the offender is required to say two “put-ups” for reach “cut-down” that has been said.
- Anything broken during UMYF function should be reported to the youth director as soon as possible. If any item is discovered and the youth that did it is known and did not report it or was doing something they should not have been, they or their parents will be required to fix or replace the item at their own personal cost
- No matches or lighters are to be used by a youth at any time unless specifically requested by a counselor or the youth director.
