Youth Choir on Spring Break Tour to St. Louis

The Youth Choir sang at a church in Mt. Vernon, IL, at a Children’s home and at Centenary United Methodist Church in St. Louis with a visit to the famous arch. They went on a river cruise, experienced some blues music, and visited the St. Louis Zoo.  They also visited the Cathedral of St. Louis and then went on to Arkansas where they hiked and stayed at a Camp and Retreat Center. They toured the Heifer Ranch before heading home.

Pure Joy! Rent-A-Kid!

“Pure Joy! is now back in the “Rent-a-Kid.” business for Pure Joy!  These students are “guaranteed” hard workers. How many youth aged kids do you know who get up to sing at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings?

Choir members have signed up to do the following: babysit, lawn work, housework, fence painting, gift wrapping, odd & ends work, etc. The money received for Rent-a-Kid Sales goes directly into the account for the participating student. Participate in this program and you will be considered a  Pure Joy! Sponsor. To sign-up, e-mail Kitty Williams at kwilliams@fumcgarland.org . She will then contact the student.”
